Hi, I’m Dave Closson. I am the author of Motivational Interviewing for Campus Police. It is an Amazon Kindle Best seller. In the book, I teach officers how to apply motivational interviewing on patrol to increase students’ own internal motivation to change their high risk behaviors.
I am also a founding member of Prevention Leaders, Inc, which is focused on building a bridge between campus police and student affairs professional staff. Prevention Leaders, Inc provides in-persons and online training courses related to alcohol and other drug prevention.
For years, I have had people call, write, and refer to me as their mentor or coach. I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. My mission is to share my knowledge and expertise with campus professionals so they may win at work and succeed in life.
To that end, I write, speak, and train on law enforcement topics, alcohol and other drug prevention, and student veteran success.
I also publish content on PreventionLeaders.com which hosts the majority of my online training courses and prevention focused articles.
My goal is to create insightful, relevant, and practical content you can put to work in your personal and professional life. If you consider yourself a motivated and driven individual, then this website is for you!
